Our Vision and Mission Statement

We improve the quality of people’s lives and build mutual cultural understanding.

We support projects that

  • respond to the effects of conflict and violence
  • improve access to health, learning and the Arts
  • develop scientific understanding and build knowledge

We optimise our impact by encouraging innovative approaches and by engaging in effective partnerships.

In October 2011 the Trustees decided that after many years of successful grant-giving, it wished to carry out a fundamental review of activities and redefine how the Will of our founders can be best interpreted in the changing world that we live in today.

The result is this vision and new mission statement, which will guide our activities in the next years. Building upon this statement of purpose, the Trustees have redefined the support areas and the grant-giving criteria through which the Foundation will pursue its goals.

This process of renewal is ongoing and we will refine and improve our work in dialogue with partners and other like-minded organisations.
