Suspension of grant applications
from 30th September 2011 until 31st March 2012

«The Board of Trustees has decided to suspend grant applications from 30th September 2011 until 31st March 2012. NO GRANT APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THIS PERIOD.»

The only exceptions are applications for Scholarships and Schoolprojects in Canton Bern: the processing and awarding of grants will continue.

The Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation has been awarding grants for over forty years in accordance with the Will of Mrs June Mary Johnson and in memory of Mrs Johnson's husband. The Foundation was established to support Fine Arts and to promote the standard of living in deserving countries through aid projects and scientific research.

The Board of Trustees has decided that after many years of successful projects it wishes to carry out a fundamental review of activities and to consider how the will of our founder can be best interpreted in the changing world that we live in today.

In the next months the Johnson Foundation will reappraise the Will expressed by our founder. It will redefine the vision of the Foundation and formulate a mission statement to guide our activities in the next years. The criteria for grant giving and the guidelines for project applications will be updated.

During this process the Trustees have decided to suspend grant applications until the new criteria and guidelines have been published. An exception will be applications for stipends and school projects in Canton Bern, where grant giving will continue uninterrupted.

No correspondence will be conducted on this decision. We thank you for your understanding and invite you to visit our website again from 1st April 2012.
