The Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation grants financial contributions to projects in the following sectors:

Scientific & academic research, but primarily medical research
Development cooperation
Social Welfare projects (especially projects for children and the handicapped)
Culture:
Music (especially classical music of all musical epochs)
Theatre
Exhibitions
Tanz
Film (in exceptional cases)

The Foundation supports a project at the most for a period of two to three successive years.

Excluded in principle are contributions:

to profit-oriented institutions
to individuals for their personal support
to projects of institutions or departments of institutions which are already receiving support from the Johnson Foundation for a project
for supplementary means to cover a deficit which has already occurred
to very small projects
to projects which need a contribution within four or less months
